The 300 Degree rails have well documented improvements over the Border units. However to the casual observer they look a lot alike. A few years ago before I knew anything about 300 degree rails, I had a set of Border rails on my desk for several weeks. I spent considerable time at night looking at how to improve them even fitting them on motors in the shop taking measurements, etc. I even got some estimates on production costs. Right around this same time I learned of the release of the 300Degree rails, and after looking into them and seeing who was involved I knew that the engineering was in order and was confident they would be a quality product. I stopped right there with the Z1 fuel rail project and haven't touched it since. I could see their development was already far ahead of ours and they had really done their research. I chose not to compete for several reasons. I did not want it to appear that we were just following suit by releasing a rail and to be completley honest we simply did not have the spare time and resources to provide a better product than what they had almost ready for market. If we would've continued the development at that time I couldn't be sure their advances wouldn't influence our design. I still have the Border rails in my office in a box and some maybe event some notes somewhere, but I do not plan on revisting that project as long as we can provide our customers with the 300 Degree fuel rails.
